Wayne Kenniker Announces 2026 Re-Election Campaign for Dubuque County Supervisor
DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa — Incumbent Wayne Kenniker today officially announced that he will seek re-election in 2026 for his seat on the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors. Kenniker, first elected in November 2022, said his decision to run again stems from a deep commitment to responsible governance, fiscal stewardship, and delivering results for Dubuque County residents.
“I believe our work is far from finished — and I want to keep fighting for a county that lives within its means, supports public safety, and puts people first,” Kenniker said.
Why He’s Running
Over his current term, Kenniker has focused on a number of key issues that he says he will continue to push forward if re-elected:
About Wayne Kenniker
A lifelong resident of Sageville and graduate of University of Dubuque with a BA in Business, Kenniker spent decades working in the electric utility industry — first as a lineman, then in management — before turning to public service.
He served as Mayor of Sageville beginning in 2019 and was re-elected in 2021, where he established his reputation as a consensus-builder and community-focused leader.
Kenniker is married to his wife Lori of over 42 years. Together they have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren.
Looking Forward: What Kenniker Hopes to Achieve
If re-elected, Kenniker has laid out a forward-looking agenda that includes:
A Call to Action
“As your County Supervisor, I don’t take lightly the trust you place in me,” Kenniker said. “I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, listen, and work hard for every resident in Dubuque County. But I can’t do it alone — I ask for your support, your ideas, and your vote in 2026 so together we can keep building a stronger, safer, and more responsible county.”
